evTics.app

Screenshot of evtics.app

A little app for working with wavelength (nm) electron-volt (eV) plots in gnuplot. It will generate a gnuplot command which will place ‘nicely spaced’ electron volt (eV) tic marks on the second x axis (x2) using setx2tics().

Usage

1) Type in the range of you wavelength axis in the start and top fields, then,
2) simply cut and paste the resultant text into a gnuplot script.
3) Done!

Example

Example gnuplot script file

gnuplot script file which points to some tab delimited data file ‘lumogen-violet-yellow-orange-red.spectra’, this data ranges from 300nm–800nm. evTics.app output has been pasted to the beginning of the file.

Download
